Anthony Brown Obituary

Anthony Bernard Brown, Jr. SWOYERSVILLE, PA - Retired United States Navy Senior Chief, Anthony B. "Tex" Brown Jr., 89, of Swoyersville, Pennsylvania, formerly of Charleston, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015. Born on October 2, 1925, Tony was the son of the late Anthony Brown Sr. and Justina (Popson) Brown. Tony honorably served his country during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, retiring after 25 years of service. Following his retirement, Tony was employed by the Charleston Ship Yards as a dry dock operator for 17 years. Tony is survived by his wife of 63 years, Adele A. Brown; his son, Scott A. Brown and wife, Rene Ann; grandchildren, Logan and Ashlon Brown; brother, James Brown; sisters, Dolores Mrozinski, Marie Brown, and Bernice Yencha. The funeral will be conducted on Monday, July 13, at 9:30 am from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery, where Military Honors will be accorded by the US Navy. Viewing on Sunday, July 12, 2015, from 5 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
