Anthony Baca Obituary

ANTHONY A. BACA Anthony A. Baca, age 61 born and raised in Santa Fe and resident of Albuquerque, passed away on June 2, 2014 after losing his battle with cancer. Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dolores Baca and sister, Christine Baca. Anthony is survived by his sons, Michael and Craig. He is also survived by six brothers and sisters: Jim (Patricia) Baca of Albuquerque, Bernadette (John) Alejandro of Santa Fe, Charles (Glenda) Baca of Phoenix, Leonard (Martha) Baca of Santa Fe, "Squeepy" (Joe) Castillo of Albuquerque and Paul Baca of Santa Fe as well as many dear relatives, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews. Anthony was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He passed away while in the compassionate care of the Veterans Hospital in Albuquerque. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff of the VA Hospital's Community Living Center for their care of our brother. A rosary will be held on Monday, June 9, 2014 at St. Anne's Catholic Church at 9am followed by a Mass at 10am. Burial will take place on Monday, June 9, 2014 at 11:15am at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe. My deepest condolences to all the Baca family. I love you all like a family. I am so grateful I got to give Anthony a hug last month. He was such a wonderful spirit. He always made me laugh. His mother had such a special heart felt feeling for him. She told me so. She loved everyone with such dear compassion. I know Anthony is happy with her, Dolores, Chrissy and the Lord. Baca family, siento mucho. I grew up on Otowi, neighborhood kids. Playing baseball on the streets, walked to De Vargas Jr. High. Casa Alegre was a great neighborhood to grow up in. Rest in peace Anthony
