Annie Blakely Obituary

Annie Elizabeth Blakely, 78, of Moncks Corner, SC, passed away on Monday afternoon in a Charleston hospital. Born July 26, 1947, in Georgetown, SC, she was the daughter of James Sykes Blakely and Annabell Smith Blakely. Mrs. Blakely attended Georgetown High School and was a devoted member of the Moncks Corner Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was also a former cook and waitress for the Idle Hour at Park Circle. She had a passion for flower gardening, cooking, word search puzzles, shopping, and getting her hair and nails done, but most of all, she cherished her family. Mrs. Blakely was preceded in death by a son, Brian Lamar Blakely, and she was the widow of Arike McGill Blakely, Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Candace 'Candy' Hartley of Moncks Corner, and her son, Arike M. Blakely, Jr., of N. Charleston. Annie was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren, Heather Dukes, Brittany MacBay, Ashley Bugarin, Nicholas Hartley, and Piper Hill. She also leaves behind ten great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Her funeral will be 3:00 PM Sunday afternoon, September 7, 2025, in the Chapel of Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. Interment will follow in the Halfway Creek Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 PM until the hour of service on Sunday.
