Anne Steele Obituary

STEELE, Anne Anne Knox Steele, 78, of West Columbia, and formerly of 3546 Admiral Drive, Charleston Heights, SC, passed into eternal rest Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at her residence. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 11, 2005 at Carolina Memorial Gardens. She is the widow of Mervin Steele, Sr. Anne was born January 15, 1927 in Greenville, SC; a daughter of the late Aaron Rea and Eleanor Fitzgerald Knox. She is a member of Cherokee Place United Methodist Church. She is survived by three sons, Mervin "Mickey" Steele, Jr. (Debbie) of West Columbia, Robert K. Steele (Debbie) of Myrtle Beach, and Christopher R. Steele (Sandy) of Columbia; sisters, Ethel K. Kellahan of James Island, SC and Mary K. Keene of AR; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Anne was a devoted sister-in-law of Milton and Peggy Steele of Falmouth, MA. The Steele family is being served by Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, North Charleston. In lieu of flowers, Anne's family asks that memorial contributions be made to Cherokee Place United Methodist Church, 2105 Cosgrove Ave., North Charleston, SC 29405.
