I am very saddened to learn much later of the passing of Anne, my Chapel Hill graduate English student classmate and friend. We shared so many good times there as we explored the great works of literature, especially the works of Thomas Hardy. I especially remember visiting her at her home in Charleston and reliving those stimulating classes and personalities . I extend my deep condolences to her family. I will always remember our lively conversations and her laughter. Rest in Peace, Anne.

I would have never thought , I wouldn't have been their through the end. I can remember the last smile we shared. With the shift of schedules, I often wondered if you missed my light jokes. I would call you Mrs..Bunny and hug you and tell you until tomorrow. Tomorrow never came, for you and I. I read the post listing , and came to the conclusion as your care giver for hospice that you were a sweet and special lady. Your bright smile and laughter. I will always keep you in my memory book of life.

I met Anne when she became my realtor 12 years ago. She was a wonderful person. I was so grateful for all of her assistance. I know she will be missed.

We will cherish the memory of your grace and wit. Personally, I adore the fact that you appreciated the finer things in life, but the most important thing was that you made our Father so happy!

Anne passed WAY ahead of her time. She was always a bright inspiration and a joie de vivre. RIP dear Anne. We shall not forget you and will toast you at our CofC 50th Golden Grad reunion spring 2016. Pax. Robert Ball

My memory is of a vivacious sorority sister who was always full of fun, game for just about anything but with her feet always firmly and sensibly on the ground. Her life sounds a wonderful development and enhancement of the youth we shared. My prayers are for her family and those who loved her best. May she rest in Peace and Light Eternal.

There are so many memories... from Mrs. Gruber's Kindergarten where we caught lady bugs, to Ashley Hall (!-!2)where you were the Princess in the Castle of the Blue Diamonds. We rode our bikes to Hampton Park and played "little rebels" spying on Yankees coming down the Ashley, of hunting buried treasure in the plough mud, of picking up pecans and raking up leaves in your back yard, and bouncing in Barbara's little English Ford when we went over bumps on Charleston streets. Later, at the College of Charleston, we went our separate ways, but I always remembered the good times shared, the generosity of rides home from school with your father. I admired your fine mind, your poise, and was proud of your accomplishments. Thank you for making the world a better place. You and your family, especially "Butch" (but I like Arthur better) and Barbara will always hold a special place of love and gratitude in my heart and affections. (I am sorry, Joy, that I did not know you as well.) May each of you be comforted, knowing that you did what you could to make her days better, that Anne rests in peace (though I think she's busy getting things organized in heaven), and that the loving, happy memories you have will make warm companions.

CAIRO (Egypt) - Like the rain in Charleston, so many memories flood my mind and heart of you, sweet Anne, in those halcyon days at Porter and Ashley Hall, when you and I were young, so long ago. May the Good Shepherd comfort your family and welcome you into his home forever.
