Sis C. Rivers & Family,

Truly a precious jewel has gone home to be with the Lord. There are some that carries the title of a church Mother but Mother Rodgers not only carried it, she lived it until the end of her earthly service. She was a loving Mother faithful in the service of the Lord, loved everybody with all her heart, always greeted everyone wiith her beautiful smile and warm hug, humble, soft-spoken, filled with godly wisdom, a great encourager, exemplified the "fruits of the spirit" and so many other things that would take up too much space here to list. I have so many beautiful memories of Mother Rodgers that I will forever cheriish and keep stored in my heart. She would always encouraged me whenever I called or came by to visiit her and our telephone conversations always ended with "I love you." Your mother left a great example for everone to follow. Look to the Lord and he will continue to strengthen you in the days ahead. In due time you will be able to look back, reminisce and cherish with a smile the wonderful memories of your mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, in-law and friend. Be encouraged in the Lord.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

The days of our years are threescore and ten, and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow for it is soon cut off and we fly away. Psalm 90:10
Our prayers are with you for strength and comfort always.

To God be the glory for all the things that he has done and what he is going to do. I truly thank God for Mother Roger it take a special person to wear the title as a church mother and this is a title that was well earned by Mother Rogers. I have never heard Mother Rogers talked about anyone or put anyone down. Mother Rogers loved the Lord with all of her heart, mind, body and soul. Mother Rogers still praised the Lord in the good and bad time and in sickness and health. Mother Rogers was a Wife, Mother, Grandmother,Sister and a Friend to all who was in need of a friend. I could see Mother Rogers praising the Lord for allowing her to come home to heaven. I know Mother Rogers loved her faimily just like they loved her. However, If she could come back she won't so let her just continue to enjoy Jesus. So I say to the Family be encourage and continue to hold on the the memory of Mother Rogers and the Lord will see you through.

As I think about the passing of Mother Rodgers, the words "sorry for your lost" does not come to mind. What does come to mind is thank God for the mother that God bless you all with. She is a precious jewel and many of you came to Christ because of her. She was a very sweet women, who always had something nice to say and with a smile on her face. She was a wife to her husband, a mother to her children, a grandmother to her grandchildren, and a friend to all. Most of all she was a true child of God. The Bible declares that we must be humble as a child and Mother Rodgers fits that very description. She has completed her course and I am so glad I came to know her along the way. I will certainly miss the trips to New Jersey and North Carolina with her. It was never a dull moment and I was always able to be myself around her. So I say Sister Rivers cheer up for God has not forgotten about you. To the family get on board if you want to dwell with Mother ever again. May God bless and strengthen each one of you.

With sincere thoughts
