I lived with my family less than a mile from Ms. Katie's Stand on Folly Road. There were the busy summers of riders going to Mosquito Beach and Folly Beach for the day but making a point to stop at the Stand for vegetables on the way down or back. Great memories and times were had during those days. We were always greeted with smiles from Delores, Charlotte or Ms. Katie. Hard work was something they all did. Playtime would come later.

The Ropers were great examples for the people in the neighborhood. Delores and I were classmates at W. Gresham High School. We would share some classes and lunchtime together. It's hard to believe she's gone but the memories of our time together will always be with me.

Continue to love each other and let God be the center of your lives.
