Please accept our deepest sympathy at your loss. Thinking of Anna brings up floods of fond memories dating back to grade school days at St. Peter's. Always a joy to be with, she leaves us to cherish her memories and celebrate her full and vivacious life. She always seemed as though she was off on an adventure, and indeed, her life did include plenty of those. Not to neglect her travel to the US, her academic, occupational, and other successes, but, for Anna, an adventure could be a solo trek back to Fort Wayne, the search for a "first-edition" novel, a buying spree for "bargain antiques" at Shipshewanna (never mind how to get them back to SC), certainly dragon boat racing, and probably, a trip to the local supermarket.
Our opportunities to enjoy Anna's company were often months, even years apart and a lot would happen in between, sometimes good, and sometimes not so much. On one such occasion I commented that her hair seemed different and her reply was "that's the way it grew back after chemo". That was it, enough said, move on to the next subject. Always positive, totally unflappable. She would often affirm that "life is good". Now that she is off on her life's greatest adventure, when we meet the next time I fully expect to hear her say, "life was good, but Heaven is much, so much, better. Rest in peace and God's love.

I am so sorry for the loss of dear Anna, and so glad that she was surrounded by family. As a member of Dragon Boat Charleston and a racing teammate one of my favorite memories of Anna was on our trip to Toronto, Canada to race one chilly September weekend in Oh I think 2010! We had a long walk to and from the venue and had great talks. I have missed her for some time. All my best to your family.
