Ann Williams Obituary

Ann Nicholls (Nicki) Harris Williams CHARLESTON - Born in Charleston, SC, May 30,1943, Nicki was the daughter of the late Louise Watkins Harris and John Nicholls Harris. She is survived by her daughters, Sara Mayfield Williams (Mike Brusca) of Lambertville, NJ, Catherine Nicholls Williams of Charleston, and grandchildren, Henry Harris Brusca, and Tyler Ann Brusca. She died February 14, 2023 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Nicki was a graduate of Rivers High School, a member of Tri Delta Sorority at the College of Charleston, and earned a Master's in Psychology from Southern Illinois University. She was an accomplished watercolor artist, working with scenes of her beloved low country, for which she won numerous awards. She was a member of the Charleston Artists' Guild and the SC Watercolor Society. She taught in the nation's first Head Start program in New Orleans, LA, and she taught math at Ashley Hall and Moultrie High School. She was also a Life Master in Contract Bridge. Her friends considered her to be a real Charleston character! A graveside service at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road will be held on March 4, 2023 at eleven AM. I remember Nicki growing up on Vanderhorst Street in the '50s as a "Tom Boy" and wrestler who could beat most boys like me!
