Ann McIntosh Obituary

MCINTOSH, Ann KINGSTREE - Mrs. Ann D. McIntosh, 87, widow of Frank W. McIntosh, Jr., died Friday, June 17, 2005, in a Sumter healthcare facility. Mrs. McIntosh was born May 16, 1918, in Lawrenceville, VA, a daughter of Robert Henry and Louise Yancey Dugger. She was a graduate of Longwood Teachers College in Farmville, VA. Mrs. McIntosh was a newspaper reporter from 1952-1963 and was a teacher at Williamsburg Academy in Kingstree from 1970 to 1991. She served as historian for the Daughters of the American Revolution, was Public Relations Chairperson for the Girl Scout Council, was a member of the Garden Club, Bridge Club, and worked 20 years with the Church Binder news letter. Mrs. McIntosh was a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church for 55 years. Survivors: two sons, Frank W. McIntosh of Loris and William Y. (Bill) McIntosh of Charlotte; two daughters, Mary Wicker M. Hance of Kingstree, and JoAnn M. Gibbs of Hilton Head; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, June 19, 2005, in the Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, with burial to follow in the Williamsburg Cemetery, directed by WILLIAMSBURG FUNERAL HOME. The family will receive visitors at the Williamsburg Presbyterian Church following the burial. Memorials may be made to Williamsburg Presbyterian Church.
