Angela Bruce Obituary

Angela McDuffie Bruce Charleston - Angela McDuffie Bruce, 68, of Charleston, SC, wife of Reverend Michael Bruce, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 9, 2021. Due to renovations at John Wesley United Methodist Church, her memorial service will be held on Monday, June 14, at Hibben United Methodist Church, 690 Coleman Boulevard, at 2:00 pm. Angela was born January 29, 1953 in Bennettsville, SC, daughter of Ansel Leon McDuffie and Alice Goodwin McDuffie. After graduating from Bennettsville High School class of 1971, Angela earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at MUSC School of Nursing, was certified as an OB/GYN nurse practitioner, and served as a public health nurse at SC DHEC for 20 years. As a pastor's wife, Angela and her family lived throughout many areas in the state of SC. She faithfully served each church, finding her niche and putting her gifts and talents to their best use. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Shannon B. Browne (Douglas) of Charleston, SC; son, Kevin M. Bruce (Meredith) of Johns Island, SC; grandson, Jack C. Browne; sister, Jeanie M. Feaster (Ron) of Chapin, SC; nephew, Scott Feaster (Kelly) of Columbia, SC; and niece, Courtney F. Pritchard of Chapin, SC. Mike.

I had an opportunity to work with Angela while living in SC from 1986-1989. She was an inspiration.

Dear Mike, I was heartbroken when I got this sad news. We all went through school together in Bennettsville, and although it's been a long time, I have such wonderful memories.
I have thought of you both so many times through the years. Please know you are in my prayers and in my heart.
Much love to you and your family.

I am so sorry, Mike. When she sweetly befriended the "new girl" in fourth grade our friendship started. She was kind and fun and brave. I have so many good memories and cherish the visits we had a few years ago when we were living closer to each other. I hope that wonderful memories of your life together will comfort you.
