Amedeo Caruso Obituary

Amedeo R. Caruso SUMMERVILLE - Amedeo R. Caruso, 99, of Summerville, widower of Angelina J. Caruso, died December 31, 2010, at his residence. Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at 3 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, 303 S. Main Street, Summerville. A visitation will be held from 2 o'clock until hour of service. Burial will follow at a later date at Holy Rood Cemetery, 111 Old Country Road, Westbury, NY. Mr. Caruso was born February 27, 1911, in Brooklyn, NY son of the late Joseph Caruso and Vittoria Caruso. He served in the US Navy during WWII and retired from the City of NY as a Paver with the Dept. of Transportation. He enjoyed walking, watching Baseball and boxing. He was a proud member of the VFW. He was a beloved father and cherished grandfather. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Fisher House Foundation, Inc., 111 Rockville Pike, Ste. 420, Rockville, MD 20850. Survivors include one daughter; Lucille Caruso of Baldwin, NY and one son; Joseph E. Caruso and daughter in law Abigail Baker Caruso of Summerville, former daughter in law; Yvonne Caruso Reynolds and three grandchildren; Evelyn Ashley of Pensacola, FL, Joseph A.
