Amanda Jackson Obituary

Amanda Sage Jackson FOLLY BEACH - Amanda Sage Jackson, Charleston - Amanda Sage Jackson, wife of Galphin Levi (Lee) Jackson III, passed away on August 31, 2022, after a long battle with cardiovascular disease. Amanda was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on December 4, 1967. She was predeceased by her parents, Donna Richardson Rossbach and William (Bill) Alexander Rossbach. Amanda is survived by her husband, Lee; daughters, Sage Alexandra Jackson and Leah Hilton Jackson; brother, Jason A. Rossbach (Laurie); sisters-in-law, Galin Spicer (Kevin) and Lindsey Ritter (Jack); nephews, Chase and Porter Spicer and niece, Matilda Ann Graham Rossbach. Amanda spent her childhood on Green Turtle Cay in the Abacos in the Bahamas, where her parents managed "out island" hotels. She graduated from Rollins College in 1989 and lived and worked in Charleston and later Atlanta for many years before returning to Charleston where she met and married Lee. Amanda and Lee were married for 20 years and raised a family to be proud of. Sage is a junior at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University studying Aeronautical Science. Leah is a freshman at the University of South Carolina studying Sports Management. Shortly after being diagnosed with heart disease in 2016, Amanda became an Ambassador and Spokesperson for the American Heart Association, working to encourage women to know and pay attention to the signs of heart disease and seek help when they need it. Amanda was a loved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend who was taken too early. A celebration of life will take place at a future date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Amanda's memory. Visit our guestbook at legacy.com/obituaries/charleston

My heart goes out to the friends and family of Amanda, especially her daughters Sage and Leah. Your mother was an integral part in helping us at JIES to improve our playgrounds when you were both little. Our community is a better place because of her. I hope you both carry on that same giving spirit in her legacy. Love and prayers for you all! Christein Rudloff AKA Ms. Patterson (to JIES)
