Dear Wayne, Leslie & Luden Family,

Was very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He really was one of the GREAT dad's of all time. He was always ready, willing & able to teach & help in any way possible.

One of my fondest memories was going to see Buddy & his letting me watch while he performed the almost-lost art of "truing" a compass!

He is one of those people whose presence will be missed. The world was clearly a better place for having him in it. A true friend, gentleman & sportsman.

Dear Luden Family,

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Luden. I have many fond memories of time spent with him. Mr. Luden enjoyed spending time with us boys and I still remember playing for the Stono Park basketball team for him many years ago with Richard. I also recall going to Citadel basketball games at McAllister Fieldhouse when we were in high school and Mr. Luden would give us coaching and playing tips as we watched the games. He always had on a sports coat and tie, always had his hair in place and drove a big Oldsmobile. Mr. Luden was always bigger than life for me. My mom reminded me recently of a story that involved Mr. Luden. Richard and I were playing on that Stono Park basketball team and we had progressed to a championship game somewhere on the road. We won the game and a mother of one of the opposing players was cursing Mr. Luden (our coach) and our team afterwards. Mr. Luden had the brains and composure to just walk away from the foul-mouthed lady without a response. Smart guy. We're going to miss you, Mr. Luden.

Members of the Luden Family. I have so many fond memories of Mr. Luden. He was always a great guy, with an easy going manner. My father played on the Budweiser Buds with him in the late 40's and they remained friends ever thereafter. I have not seen much of Wayne and Richard during the last 35 years, but think of the days West of the Ashley when times seemed much simpler than they are today. Thinking of you, God bless your Dad.
