Alvaretta Maddux Obituary

MADDUX, Alvaretta Alvaretta Frances Le Clair Maddux, 90, widow of Col. Gerard F. Maddux, died Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at Sandpiper Convalescent Center, Mt. Pleasant, SC. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Omar Temple Cripple Children's Fund, C/O, Omar Shrine Temple, 176 Patriot's Point, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464. Mrs. Maddux was born May 4, 1914 in Chicago, IL, a daughter of the late Joseph T. Le Clair and Alvaretta Kidder Le Clair. She was married to Col. Gerard F. Maddux for over fifty years. She was a homemaker and member of Eastern Star Chapter 56 for over fifty years. She was a volunteer at Roper Hospital for many years. Survivors include three daughters, Ruth Bohrn and husband Verle Bohrn of Summerville, SC, Alveretta F. Vest and husband Danny Vest of VA and Cydney M. Barker of Summerville, SC; one son, John F. Maddux of GA; six grandchildren, Jaclyn Boyce and husband Randy Boyce of Moncks Corner, SC, Susan B. Riley and husband Brent Riley of Summerville, SC, Verle I. Bohrn and wife Karen Bohrn of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Eric S. Bohrn and wife, Penny Bohrn of Washington, DC, Millicent P. Giavelli and fiancé Richard Curuso of GA, Angela R. Vose of Mt. Pleasant, SC; four great-grandchildren, William Hunter Riley of Summerville, SC, Brandon I. Bohrn of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Amber Boyce of Moncks Corner, SC, and Sarah Vose of Mt. Pleasant, SC.
