Almenia McGhee Obituary

Almenia Jerraldean Logan McGhee MEMPHIS, TN - Almenia Jerraldean Logan McGhee, 72, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022 in Memphis, TN. A native of North Charleston, SC, and relocating with the love of her life to Memphis, TN, in 1974. Almenia was preceded in death by her parents, Ella Mae Price Logan (mother), Walter Logan (father), and Francis Pringle Logan (step-mother); her sister, Joyce Logan; her brother, William Logan; and step-brother, Robert Pringle (Germaine). Almenia leaves to cherish her memory the love of her life, husband, Peola "Mac" McGhee; son, Romian McGhee (Shanee) and daughter, Ketora McGhee; grandchildren, Saraia, Langston, and Sage McGhee; sisters, Jacqueline L. Smalls and Drexyl Logan; brother, Julius Pringle (Lorraine); brothers-in-law, Jesse (Shirley) and Dennis (Sylvia) McGhee; sisters-in-law, Anita, Berdia, Gracie, Freddie, and Jackie McGhee; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews; cousins; friends; and is affectionately known as "Auntie", "Mommy", or "Mama McGhee". After graduating salutatorian from Bonds-Wilson High School, North Charleston, SC (Class of 1967), Almenia received her honors B.S. Degree in Business Education from South Carolina State University (Class of 1971) and her Master's Degree +45 from the University of Memphis (Class of 1975). As an honor to her life and memory, remember the words she quoted often, "To Thine Ownself Be True" and these scriptures that were her guiding light: Romans 12:3, 6-20, Colossians 3:3-13, Philippians 4:6-8. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 1 o'clock at St. James A.M.E. Church and laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery at 3 o'clock in Memphis, TN.
