Having served 41 years in the AF (active, reserve, and civil service) I have gotten know many AF members, but only a few stand out. Gen Pate was one of those. I looked forward to seeing him in Denver at Annual Serveys of the Law. We had an affinity because we had both served as tanker pilots on active duty. He is one of the finest gentlemen and officers I have ever met. I haven't seen him in years and I miss him. I can only imagine the loss to his family and close friends. My sincere condolences.

Glenda and Family, we extend sincere sympathies to you in the passing of my dear friend Alan. Truly a great man and most professional in all his work and activities. All the many years of real estate transactions and legal matters have been unforgettable because of his personal attitude toward his clients and the issues. Please know I consider him a dear friend and will remember him without question. May God"s Peace and Blessings be yours.

Glenda our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. I have many fond memories of commuting to McEntire with Al. We enjoyed some wonderful times, especially the time spent in the air. I will always cherish our friendship and the fond memories. May God's peace comfort and strength you in these difficult days.

Glenda and Family -
My sadness at Allen's passing is matched only by my happy memories of the thirty-plus years we were friends and fellow judge advocates. It was my privilege those many years ago to "tout" Allen for inclusion in national Air National Guard judge advocate activities, and his ascension to being the leader of that entire program was the beginning of a truly fantastic period for all involved! Working with - and later, for - Allen on Guard legal matters was always enjoyable, no matter how grueling the actual task at hand might be. His leadership was greatly missed after his military retirement, but his legacy is a large one, and his memory will always be with us.

Dear Glenda,
Pat and I are so sorry to hear of Allen's untimely passing. Thirty-four years ago to today's date I first met him here in Montgomery at Maxwell AFB at the AFJAG School. His wonderful personality, friendliness and professionalism never changed over those many years. He was a great mentor, and most important, I was most honored and proud to have called him my "good friend." He will be sorely missed by us all. Thank you for sharing him with us. May God Bless you and your family.

Farewell my friend Al Pate. We worked together during McEntire's transition from the F-102 to the A-7D and bonded immediately. Al always saw the big picture and always took the high road. I will miss his humor and keen insight.

Dear Glenda,
It's hard to believe that it has been 55 years since we last lived across the sidewalk at University Terrace and Allen and i finished Carolina.
Although we haven't seen each other in all of those years I remember our good times together.
Allen and I were in Delta Sig together, many classes and lots of fond memories.
Please know that Betty and i are thinking of you and your family at this time.
