Don't know what made me look you up "Big Al" but something did. I'll always remember meeting you and sharing some beers in our apartment laundry room with you back in the 1970's in Woodbridge, NJ. and camping together in the Thousand Islands, New York State. Sad to hear you have passed, sorrier we didn't keep in touch. See you on the other side, my friend.

Al we traveled many miles together via MSF, GWRRA, business, and Masonry. My memories of you are sharp and crisp as the Fall air of today. Ride on as you journey to the Celestial Lodge where you will reside forevermore.

When I first met Allen as another contractor on the NMCI Project in 2003, I knew I had met a very special person. 2003 was a very hard time for anyone looking for work in the tech field, and we were both happy to have found those positions. Al had a,.. um, ... PECULIAR way of looking at the times we were both living in. He gave me many smiles in those days, and for years afterwards when I would think about stuff he said when we worked together on that project.
In 2007, when I became a Mason at Hammerton Lodge, you cannot imagine how thrilled I was to find out this wonderful human being from my past was also, now, a Lodge brother. And, after our time together during the Hard Years, it was another deep moment to share that we survived the "bad times", and landed back on our feet in the tech field.
After the NMCI Project, I never saw Al often, but it was ALWAYS a joy and pleasure to see him. And I am sorry that I will never see his wonderful smile, or hear his voice again.
Al, it was such a SHOCK to hear of your passing. The person who told me, I hung up the phone on them immediately to call someone who could confirm the news. I will miss you, my brother. And, it might be in bad form to say it, but I will miss my smoking buddy.
My sincerest condolances to the family. Al touched an INCREDIBLE number of lives, and in ways that can never be counted. I am honored to be one of the lives that he touched.
