Dear Rhett--I just learned today from a fellow Alumni from AHS that Alicia had passed away. It made me so sad. She was one of the brightes funniest people in the class and I always enjoyed our times together.

The last time I saw her was in Charleston at what I believe was our 35th reunion. We ignored all the "do not enter" signs at the McBee house and marauded through all the old dorm rooms. She asked me then if I was still as funny as I used to be. Me?! I asked--what about you? I'll never forget when one of us was distraught over hitting a dog with her car and Alicia was trying to comfort the poor soul. "Have you ever killed an animal?" she sobbed to which Alicia said, I did flush a goldfish down the toilet once..." That was vintage Alicia.

Please know that Charleston is hanging crepe in memory of that darling girl. Sending you all the best.

Blessings always,

Stanley (Smith) Reahard

Dear Rhett,

I am very sorry to learn of Alicia’s passing. I hope there will be a memorial service in New York City; I hope you will let us know how her New York friends might participate in the service. Alicia was quite a character, and this vibrant, opinionated, thriving city suited her very well. She shared with me how much she enjoyed seeing her nephews. We enjoyed talking about our southern heritages, going to the theater and to comedy clubs. I will miss her frankness and her sense of fun.
I am sorry for your loss.

Sincerely,

Dear Rhett,

I was so sorry to learn of Alicia's death. Alicia was lively, fun, pretty and a very good friend. We had many good times and hearty laughs together. I hope the memorial service will be in New York City so that Alicia's friends may pay tribute to her life.

With sympathy and prayers,
Patricia Lynch Sincerbeaux

Dear Rhett,
I am sorry to read of Alicia's passing. You may not remember , but I
was a boarder with Alicia. She was in the 10th and I , 9th grade. I spent a lot of time with Alicia and my cousin, Marguerite at my Uncle Owen's house at 55 Legare Street. She was bright, funny, and a real character through and through. Last time that I spoke with her was, when she was working in a bar on Capitol Hill, back in the 70s.
She called me up, out of the blue, and we had some good laughs.
She taught me to eat savoire cheese from the piggly wiggly. She kept it in the window of her dorm room, to keep it "refrigerated>"

I have often thought of her the last few years because of the Glass-Stegall Act which your grandfather initiated. I remembered that your father was from VA.,also.

She was a great person. I am sorry that I had not seen her over the years. Last time, I heard about her was when she was living in Mt.Pleasant.

I know that you will miss her and your children, too. I am happy that i knew her from my years at Ashley Hall.

Sorry for your loss.

My very Best to your family,
