Alicia Duvall Obituary

Captain Alicia Gale Duvall Harker Heights, TX - Captain Alicia Gale Duvall, 45, died peacefully in her Harker Heights, TX home on August 8, 2017. A veteran who served as an Army Aviator, she served selflessly until leaving service to be a dedicated mother. Alicia was born on February 2, 1972, to Walter and Beverly Grudzinski. In 1993, she received her commission from George Mason University. She then attended Flight School at Fort Rucker, Alabama. CPT Duvall was then assigned to 1-227 AVN at Fort Hood Texas. In 1993, Alicia married William E. Duvall IV. In 1997, Alicia left service to dedicate herself to being a mother and supporting her husband's military service. Throughout the years Alicia served in many positions supporting children and the military; substitute teacher, youth sport director, and YMCA youth director. Alicia was awarded Volunteer of the Year in Hohenfels, Germany, in 2004. In 2013, she opened Alicia's Photography providing high quality event and youth sport photography. Alicia is survived by her husband, William; three sons William, Adam and Christopher; her parents, Walter and Beverly Grudzinski; her sister, Sharon Stacks; and her brothers, Walter and Brian Grudzinski A viewing will take place at Crawford-Bowers (Killeen) Chapel on August 13 from 4 to 6pm and the funeral will be on August 14 at 3pm at The Spirit of Fort Hood Chapel on Fort Hood. Burial will occur at Live Oaks Cemetery in Charleston, SC, on August 19 at 10AM. Receptions will follow both the funeral and burial.
