Alice Miller Obituary

Alice Alberta Hopson Miller, 91, of Nampa, passed away at her home surrounded by her loved ones, on Wednesday, May 5, 2010. Alice was born March 4, 1919 to Oris and Clementine Brumley Hopson in Mountain Home. She was the second of three children, and graduated from Mountain Home High School in 1938. She married Monte Z. Miller on the May 27, 1939 in Mountain Home and on the 8th of June 1991, their marriage was solemnized in the Boise LDS Temple. They were married 68 years.
In 1946 they moved to the Deer Flat family farm where she resided until her death.
Alice belonged to the Ladies Engineers Lodge and the UTU for over 40 years. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attended the Kuna 4th Ward.
She was a loving mother and grandmother to four children, 16 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Alice loved sewing, dancing with her husband, fishing, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and spending time at her cabin in Donnelly.
She was a great advocate for her family, and loved to share stories of her youth with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Monte, her parents Oris and Clementine Hopson, a sister Loretta Hall, and a brother William L. Hopson.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Franklin "Pete" (Sandy) Miller, Laura "Beth" (Carl) Post, LeRoy (Edy) Miller, and Kathryn (Ace) Dyas.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 10, at the Kuna LDS Stake Center at the corner of Kuna and Black Cat roads.
A viewing will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Relief Society Room prior to the services. Burial will be at the Melba Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa. 467-7300.
