Alfredo Margate Obituary

Alfredo Margate GOOSE CREEK - Alfredo (Ted) G. Margate, beloved husband of Joyce Margate, passed away at his home in Goose Creek, SC, on Monday, June 19, 2023. He was 82. Ted was born on July 14, 1940, in Cavite, Philippines. He was the son of the late Pedro and Magdalena Margate (Gaudier). He enlisted in the US Navy in 1959 where he served a proud and distinguished career, rising to the rank of Command Master Chief of the Charleston Naval Station. He retired after 24 years of service to his country. In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose, and his brothers, Ricardo, Oyet and Isaac Margate. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Freddie Margate (Chip), Rose Long, and Chris Margate as well as his stepchildren, Sherry Leisenring (Kevin), Jeff Luna (Stephanie), and Tony Luna (Michelle). He is also survived by his brother, Henyo Margate of California and sister, Lilia Pastrana of Florida, and many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren who will miss him dearly. Interment with Military Funeral Honors will take place at Plantation Memorial Gardens in Moncks Corner, SC, on July 22nd at 12:00pm In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Project or your favorite charity for veterans.
