Alexander Huerta Obituary
Alex blessed the family of Alfred Sr and Esperanza Huerta on March 19, 1961. He joined Mary Lou and Connie and was followed by Alfred and Betty. Alex spent many of his early years playing sports at Carson Park. He excelled at baseball. He starred on the Carson High Varsity Baseball Team. After High School, Alex proudly served his country for four years by enlisting in the United States Army. Alex especially loved his family and his Los Angeles Dodgers. He was a talented drummer who shared his love of music by "jamming" with his brother, Alfred whenever their schedules permitted. Alex is survived by his lifelong partner, Gilda Savala; his son, Alexander Huerta, JR; his father, Alfred Huerta; his mother, Esperanza Huerta; his brother, Alfred Huerta (Rosa); his sisters, Mary Lou Rivera; Connie Pancoast (Dallas) & Betty Harris (Mark); his nephews, Domonic Ledoux (Shayla) Levi Ledoux, Ben Pancoast, J.J. Rivera & Mark Rivera; his nieces, Alexandria Ledoux, Tatiana Huerta (godchild), Emily Rivera & Briana Huerta; his grandnephews, Robert Huerta Jr., T.J. Luna, Matthew Luna, Brian Hernandez & Nick Ledoux. Alex was welcomed into eternity on April 8, 2007 by his nephew, Robert Huerta. Alex is also survived by a large extended family and a wide circle of friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 18 from 12-5pm followed by services at 7:00pm at Green Hills Mortuary in Rancho Palos Verdes. Funeral services will continue Thursday, April 19 at 11:00am at Mission Ebenezer Family Church, 415 W. Torrance Blvd in Carson. I was saddend when I saw Alex in the newspaper. Although I only knew him for a short while, when I played softball at Carson Park, He made a great impression on me, he was always a very friendly and happy person. Every once in a while I think back to those days at the park, and remember his wonderful smile. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

We sadly send our condolences to the Huerta family.
I always remember Alex as the guy I looked up to when when we played baseball at Carson Park. He was the best I ever played with (sorry Alfred). He used to put fear into whoever would step into the batters box and try to hit one of his fastballs, and they usually struck out. I spoke to my father this morning (coach Henry who now lives in North Carolina) and he also sends his condolences.
