Alberta Poole Obituary

Alberta Marie Biering Poole FLORENCE, SC - Alberta Marie Biering Poole, 75, of Florence, formerly of Charleston, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2012 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Mrs. Poole was born in West Charleston, SC a daughter of the late Henry A. Biering and Caroline Elizabeth Britton Biering. She was a bookkeeper for River Neck Fabrication and Welding, Inc. until retirement in 2003. She was a member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church and active with the Women of the Church and with the Florence Little Theatre. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray Lawrence Poole, who died April 6, 2005; brothers, Rudy, Gene, Cliff and Julian Biering; niece, Mary Elizabeth Weaver and sister, Clara Brown. Surviving are her daughters, Kelly Bustin of Ocala, FL and Tammy (Pete) Wulf of Timmonsville; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline Wiggle of Land of Lakes, FL; nephews, J.A. Biering, Jr. of Holly Hill, Steve P. Biering of Sumter, Kevin (Mary Lou) Poole of Riceboro, GA and Vince Poole of Ludowici, GA and a host of other nieces and nephews that she dearly loved. Memorials may be made to Hopewell Presbyterian Church, 5314 Old River Road, Florence, SC 29505. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Hopewell Presbyterian Church. Entombment will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Mrs. Poole had requested that everyone attending her service to please wear colorful happy colors, she didn't want anyone to wear black. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM Friday, August 24, 2012 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
