Albert Wilder Obituary

WILDER, Albert Albert "Don" Wilder, age 65, Vietnam War Army Veteran, entered into eternal rest on April 8, 2006, at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2006, at 10:00 a.m., in Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406. Interment to follow at Carolina Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2006, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Don was born on June 15, 1940, in Hemingway, South Carolina. He was the son of Carlton Wilder and Mary Taylor Wilder. He served 23 years and retired from the United States Army. Don served three tours in Vietnam, France, and Germany. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Army Commendation First Oak Leaf Medal in Vietnam. He was a proud veteran and loved his country. Don was a member of the American Legion Post #01666 Goose Creek, and a member of the V.F.W. Post #10256 Goose Creek. Survivors include his mother, Mary Thompson of Goose Creek, SC, daughter, Michelle Wilder and her husband Brian of Cypress, CA, sister, Faye Caraviello and her husband Harold of Goose Creek, SC, and brother, Mike Thompson and his wife Sherri of Goose Creek, SC. Also included are uncle, James A. Taylor and his wife Dottie of North Charleston, SC and two grandchildren. Arrangements by CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, Charleston, SC.
