Alan Warneck Obituary

Alan Robert Warneck SUMMERVILLE - Mr. Alan Robert Warneck, 97, of Summerville, South Carolina, went to be with the Lord on October 17, 2024. He was born in Yonkers, NY on November 8, 1926 to Edwin an Jeanne Warneck. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Victoria Teresa Warneck. He is also survived by his daughter, the Reverend Shea Godwin, his stepchildren, Richard Weiss (Bonnie) and Christine Dubicki (Tom), ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Jeanne, a brother, Peter, his daughter, Sally Kinder, and his wife of 50 years, Norma Warneck. He served in the Army during WWll in occupied Japan. After the war, he attended and graduated from Syracuse University, with a degree in Forestry. After graduation, his first employment was in North Carolina as controller at Blue Grass Whiskey Barrels. A few more short-term jobs were steppingstones to his 28 years at Drexel Furniture in Quality Control. He retired in 1992. His funeral Mass will be held on November 8, 2024, his 98th birthday, at St. Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church at 11001 Dorchester Rd. at 11:00 AM, followed by interment at the Dorchester Memory Garden and Cemetery located directly across the street from the church. Lunch will be served at the Social Hall after the ceremony at the cemetery.
