Wiley Soles Obituary

Wiley "Chip" Soles, Jr. JOHNS ISLAND - Wiley "Chip" Soles, Jr., 69, of Johns Island, South Carolina, husband of Nancy Yelton Soles entered into eternal rest Friday, September 5, 2025. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 12, 2025, in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road, at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel. Chip was born March 17, 1956, in Loris, South Carolina, son of the late Wiley Soles and Doris Soles Seabrook of Johns Island. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Doris Seabrook; and his sister, Ronda Soles both of Johns Island. He was preceded in death by his father, Wiley Soles; step-father, James Seabrook; and his precious niece, Jennifer Grech. The most important things in Chip's life were his family and his relationship with his Lord and Savior. He had a heart of gold and was full of humor, telling jokes all the time. Chip was kind and generous to all. He loved adventures, traveling to new destinations, and singing. He had a rich and mellow voice, perfect for singing James Taylor songs of which he truly loved. Some of his best loved hobbies included wood working, gunsmithing, reading, NASCAR, and watching movies. He was truly creative, artistic, and could build anything. Chip also had a huge soft spot for animals, especially dogs and cats and they loved him as well. He was often known to rescue strays, giving them a loving home. Chip began his career in the construction business but later dedicated 17 years as a nuclear pipefitter for the Charleston Naval Shipyard. When the Shipyard closed, he went to work for the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta for 5 years then worked for the St. John's Fire District prior to retiring.
