Adolphus Turner
Charleston - Adolphus Turner, 97, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of the late Shirley Ann Thompson Turner, entered into eternal rest Monday, January 12, 2026. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 16, 2026 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends Friday, one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Live Oak Memorial Gardens.
Adolphus was born May 2, 1928 in Putnam County, Florida, son of the late Adolphus Turner and Gladys Young Turner. He was a retired United States Navy veteran, who served during WWII. He later retired from the Naval Shipyard. Adolphus was a patriot who loved and fought for his country. In his free time, he enjoyed coaching baseball at the St. Andrew's playground.
He is survived by his daughter, Stacy Rodgers (Jimmie); son, Glenn Turner (Donnie Beason); grandchildren, Shelby Ann Rodgers, Annaclair Turner Rodgers; sisters, Charlotte Hersey, Hildaann Kersey, Barbara Shaw, and Lana Dowdy; great-grandchildren, Ella and Xavier; and special nieces and nephews, Alan Brickhouse, Josh Brickhouse, and Georgia Potter.
Memorials may be made to Pinecrest Baptist Church.

Glen and Stacy, sure am sorry about Mr. Turner passing. I know yall will miss him like we miss Daddy and mama. we lost Gail Oct. 9th. sure is hard. My love is with you and your families.
