Adam Nettles Obituary

NETTLES, Adam RUFFIN - Mr. Lawrence Adam Nettles, 73, of 2116 Scuffletown Road, Ruffin, died Friday evening, July 28, 2006, at the Colleton County Medical Center in Walterboro. Funeral services will be held 10 o'clock Monday morning, July 31, 2006, in Shiloh Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Nettles was born August 13, 1932, in Ruffin and was a son of the late Lawrence Lee Nettles and the late Treacie Roberts Nettles. He was a retired carpenter and was a longtime Colleton County farmer. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and also attended on many occasions Living Word Ministries in Walterboro. Mr. Nettles loved to hunt and was a past president of Little Selkehatchie Hunting Club. He loved to fish and had a great passion for his garden, and will always be remembered for centering his life around his loving family. He also coached for many years the Full Gospel Church Softball Team. Surviving are: his wife of 55 years, Mrs. Gracie Linder Nettles; eight children, Margaret Nettles Prince and her husband Coy, Allen Nettles and his wife Faye, Troy Lawrence Nettles, Gail Nix, Terry Nettles and his wife Lora, Larry Nettles and his wife Ruthie, Jeff Nettles and his wife Lisa, and Scott Nettles and his wife Tammy; three brothers, William Herman Nettles of Johns Island, Attacus Nettles of Beaufort, and Marshall Nettles of Walterboro; and three sisters, Eve Roberts of Ruffin, LaVenia Garnsey of Walterboro, and Viola Nettles of Beaufort. There are 21 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Kathy Steedly Nettles of Walterboro that also survive. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Nettles; a brother, Wendell Nettles and four grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to call from 6:00 until 8:00 this Sunday evening at THE BRICE W.
