I have been informed today that this is my third cousin and I come to find this out as i´m trying to become a member of the 75th army ranger regiment and all i want is to here more of my cousins story. -Ben Dickmyer

Happy birthday Adam. Its SSI hard to believe it's been over 10 years now that we lost you. I know there haven't been many days that you haven't crossed my mind. I miss you Adam soooooooomuch. .i love you even more.

We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Adam L. Dickmyer US Army Staff Sergeant.

I have had the privilege to share Adam's story with young teenagers I take to Section 60. Each time that I visit, my heart aches when I consider the loss of such an outstanding young man.

My hope is that by telling his story, the legacy of all he stood for, will continue to make a difference in the lives of future generations.

I thought about you all day yesterday. Thats nothing different, i think about you most days. I pray that you are at peace. I pray that your mom is with you. You were and always will be the son i never had. I love you and miss you Adam.

Words can't properly express the sadness and gratitude that we have for your son and family. I'm a friend of his mother-in-law, Julie Randall, and though I never met Adam, I heard many wonderful things about him. I did not know this young man, but I am very very grateful for his service and ultimate sacrifice for our country. May God comfort the family at this very diffcult time.

Adam was my heart and although I havent seen him since about 2003 this really hurt my soul to hear. I remember him always being so calm, collected, and reserved. I still have a photo of him and his date at the ROTC ball. He was a beautiful man and I will dearly miss him. My buddy always, I am breaking down inside to know this. He was a man about the army and fighting for his country, been that way since I first met him in 2009. Gone but never forgotten. INSHALLAH

Adam was a great NCO and the epitome of "line 6." He will be missed. I am still in Kandahar with 3rd Special Forces Group and I will see to it that we honor Adam's memory as appropriately as possible. My heart goes out to Mindy and the Dickmyer family.

I had the pleasure of working with Adam during his time as a Tomb Guard while we were both stationed at The Old Guard. His professionalism and dedication were worthy of emulation.
