Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Adam L. Dickmyer US Army Staff Sergeant.

We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families and friends and others who support our mission.

We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.

Sincerely,

I have had the privilege to share Adam's story with young teenagers I take to Section 60. Each time that I visit, my heart aches when I consider the loss of such an outstanding young man.

My hope is that by telling his story, the legacy of all he stood for, will continue to make a difference in the lives of future generations.

Words can't properly express the sadness and gratitude that we have for your son and family. To know that he is in the arms of God with those who have given the ultimate sacrifice brings tears to my eyes. Dave, as a father who has lost a child, I can understand the pain, anger and pride that you feel for your son. May God watch over you and your family now and forever.

Adam,

Not a day goes by where I'm not reminded of you, nor shall I ever forget. I owe you a debt greater than I can repay for all that you did for my soldiers and I out at FOB Azizullah and on Route London. Even though we only met once, you changed my life forever. Where ever I go, and whomever I meet, your exceptional leadership and heroism is remembered and your story lives on.

Adam,
Your 28th birthday is almost here, February 2. While we know that Heaven has welcomed you home, you are dearly missed here by your Mother and Grandmother, two very special people.

Steph,
Events happen for a reason. You and I are joined by the deepest loss known to womankind, the loss of a son. Though we grieve our loss, I am thankful we have come to know one another, we can draw hope, encouragement and strength from one another.

May God hold you gently in His grip.. you and your Mom and every Gold Star family.

Merry Chistmas Dickmyer, I love you. I'm so, so sorry that your time was cut short here on Earth, from your family and your wife. Everytime I see this video, I cry, and I remember the time Maynard cut himself on the window at your house, and knowledge of the Tomb that I helped you with, and the computer that you asked me to build for you. I love you so much brother. If I could have anything for Christmas, it would be to have you back, drinking with, laughing with, and walking with... forever

I am so sorry for the loss of Adam for the family. Even though I do not know Adam or the family, my heart is broken to know that someone unknown to me gave his life to protect me, my rights and freedoms, as well as the same for my family and country. He is a true hero because he served his country and fellowman with the knowledge that he may one day give his all, his life doing what he wanted to do. Your family's loss is heaven's gain of a wondrous angel. There are no words to express the sincere sympathy and addoration that is felt for Adam and the family. Prayers for all for love, strength, faith, understanding and the ability to carry on Adam's legacy by telling his story of life and death. May God surround your family with his love and comfort you in the days, weeks and months ahead. God bless and love you. Thank you Adam and family for your sacrifice, dedication and love of our country. Prayers and gratitude, and may we meet one great day in out Father's home.

Adam was my heart and although I havent seen him since about 2003 this really hurt my soul to hear. I remember him always being so calm, collected, and reserved. I still have a photo of him and his date at the ROTC ball. He was a beautiful man and I will dearly miss him. My buddy always, I am breaking down inside to know this. He was a man about the army and fighting for his country, been that way since I first met him in 2009. Gone but never forgotten. INSHALLAH

Dear Dickmyer family,

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. I truly feel your loss and pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Adam will never be forgotten.

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

For those missing in action;
for those who didn’t make it home.
I know you’re in God’s presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.

I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.

I salute you .
