Ada Etheridge Obituary

Ada Louise Price Etheridge ST. STEPHEN - Mrs. Ada Louise Mitchum Price Etheridge, 90, of St. Stephen, SC, a retired mail clerk with the US Postal Service in Charleston Heights, died Friday in a North Charleston hospital. Her funeral will be 2:00 PM Tuesday afternoon, January 4, 2011, in the CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. Interment will be in the St. Stephen Episcopal Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the hour of service Tuesday. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc., PO Box 7044, Columbia, SC 29202. Mrs. Etheridge was born in November of 1920 a daughter of Edna Williams Mitchum Russell and Patrick Mitchum. She was a life member of the Russellville Christian Church. She was the widow of Frank Wilbur Price. During her married years to Frank, they owned Price's Grocery Store in Russellville and farmed. Upon her retirement from the US Postal Service she returned to Russellville living on the family farm and enjoyed her flowers, fields, nature, friends and family. During the years she gave many hours volunteering with her church, children's schools and community. She was also a member of the St. Stephen Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She touched many people in a positive way through the years. She is loved and will be missed by her family and friends. Surviving are her husband, Doyle C. Etheridge; a daughter Flora Price Hart and her husband John; a son Frank W. Price, II and his wife Peggy; a sister, Olivia Russell Slaton; a brother, Patrick Mitchum; six grandchildren, Frank W. Price, III , Kelly Price Williams, David F. Price, John M. "Jay" Hart, Steven P. Hart, Robert F. Hart; a step grandson, Justin Martin; and sixteen great-grandchildren. Dear Frankie & Family, I am in MUSC with my husband, who has just had double cancer surgeries. So sorry I can't be with you all during this time, but know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers.
