Abbas Tabrizian CHARLESTON - Abbas Tabrizian, 52, of Charleston entered into eternal rest on September 23, 2014. Abbas, was a sensitive, complex, philosophical gentleman. He had style, grace and a distinguished countenance. He was a true poet. I will miss our spiritual discourse, and his quoting of Rumi. And so it is fitting that we read what his favorite poet Rumi says of death.

Rumi says:

"On the day I die, don't say he's gone. Death has nothing to do with going away.

The sun sets, and the moon sets but they're not gone.

Death is a coming together.

The human seed goes down into the ground like a bucket,

and comes up with some unimagined beauty.

Your mouth closes here, and immediately opens

with a shout of joy there."

I learned many things from Abbas, of which the most important was death transcends the dropping of the body. I am comforted, as I pray the family is that his "divine essence" will remain in our hearts.
