Aaron Mazell Obituary

Aaron Marshall Mazell Summerville - Aaron Marshall Mazell, 82, left this earth on Saturday, August 7, 2021 to join his wife, Annie Dangerfield Mazell, in their heavenly home. Marshall was born on January 13, 1939 to Samuel and Ruth Mazell at home in Summerville. He was a 1957 graduate of Summerville High School, member of the 1956 State Champion Football team, and a gold medalist in the track and field event of shot put. After 30 years of employment, he retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard as a computer analyst. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and trips with his family, especially to the mountains of Tennessee. His greatest passion was being outdoors, where he grew his garden and cultivated his yard into a natural beauty that really showed its colors in the spring. Our Daddy was loved by many and he never met a stranger. Always loving, always caring, always willing to offer a hand to anyone. He is survived by two sons, Aaron Mazell II and Michael Mazell, and one daughter, Devenney Mazell, all of Summerville; two brothers, Wayne Mazell (Lynn) and Harold Mazell (Elizabeth); one sister, Carolyn Powell (Warren); two grandsons, Jarred Mazell and Pierceton Mazell; two granddaughters, Jessica Mazell and Faith Mazell; and one great-grandson, Hunter Mazell. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews to cherish his memories. In addition to his parents and wife, Marshall is predeceased by his brothers, Jack and Allen Mazell; and sisters, Delores Hartline and Ernestine Mazell. Graveside Services will be Saturday afternoon, August 14, 2021 in Summerville Cemetery at 4:30 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather afterward to celebrate his life with one of his favorites, barbeque.
