Logan Askins Obituary

Funeral services for Logan Lane Askins, 19, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 3:00 PM, on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Good Hope Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be held immediately prior to the service beginning at 2:00 PM.

Logan Lane Askins, 19, was born on February 5, 2007 to Amy Bowley Williford and Ricky Askins. He entered Heaven on April 1, 2026.

Logan was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Mark Bowley Sr., his maternal great-grandfathers, Leroy Bowley and Joseph Fletcher; his paternal great-grandparents Charles and Doris Askins, and Edgar Billingsley.

He leaves behind a heart broken and loving family that will cherish his memory forever: his mother and stepfather Amy and Michael Williford; his father and stepmother Ricky and Roxie Askins; his siblings, Austin and Brooklyn Williford and family, Bailey Williford, Ethan Askins and Samantha, Jake Williford, Jace Williford, Korbynn-Jo Williford, Oliver Hilliard, and Elliot Hilliard; his maternal grandmother Kim Bowley; his paternal grandparents, Billy and Kathy Askins; his maternal great grandmothers Jeanette Bowley, and Mary Fletcher Gatliff and husband Don Gatliff; his paternal great grandmother Lou Nell Billingsley.

Logan was very much loved by his friends and family. He cared for everyone he met and would do anything for anyone just to help out. Growing up, he was always the prankster in the room that you had to keep your eye on. Behind that beautiful smile he was always brewing up some sort of trick or joke that would bring laughter to everyone around. He was mischievous in a fun way and always a joy to be around. He attended school at Gary ISD where he enjoyed basketball and baseball. As he grew up into a young man, his true passions were obvious to anyone that knew him – hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling. If you hung around him for any period of time, then you were going to hear about any or all of those three topics. He loved going out at night with his friends hunting wild pigs with his thermal scope, deer hunting (as you can tell by his picture on this bulletin), fishing in any hole of water that had the potential to support fish life, and , of course, four wheeling. If there was a mud hole close by, then you can bet that he had already, or will soon be taking his four-wheeler straight through it. It didn't matter how deep or how thick the mud was, he would just send it and hope for the best. He spent a lot of time fulfilling those three passions at his Papaw's and Nana's. They both thoroughly enjoyed every minute that he was there, especially all the times that Logan would help Papaw feed the cows or fill up deer feeders. Logan considered Papaw his #1 hunting buddy. In the last two years, Logan also proved himself to be a very hard worker, helping his dad and brother in their lawn businesses. This made both of them extremely proud, and he will be missed in that respect as well. Although Logan's life was short and ended much too soon, we all have so many happy memories that we will cherish and keep safely tucked away deep inside our hearts. Logan was an amazing son, brother, grandson, great grandson, and friend to all that really took the time to know him. We are going to miss your smile, your laugh, and your presence in our lives. We love you and can only imagine how much fun you are having now on the Outskirts of Heaven.

Everyone loved Logan. I remember meeting him when I taught his big hearted brother, Ethan in second grade. Once you met Logan, his sparkling blue eyes and smile forever stayed in your heart. He graduated last year with my granddaughter and he was more than special.
He left this earth way too early. I can´t fathom the heartbreak and grief his precious mom, Amy is suffering. God is there with her every step of the way, holding her up. Family and friends outpour their love and prayers. We love this family and will keep Logan in our memories as a wonderful young man. Logan, rest in the forgiving arms of our Savior.
