Dora Jeannie Bryan was born August 2,1962, in
Syracuse, New York. Dora was the beloved daughter of her late parents Mitchell "Mike" Crothers and Assunta Susie Crothers. Dora and her late twin sister, Doris Hall were the youngest of four children. Her late brother Michael Crothers preceded her in death. She is survived by her eldest sister Anne Marie Rivara.
Dora was a woman of unwavering strength, deep love, and enduring faith. A three-time breast cancer survivor, she faced life's challenges with remarkable courage and unshakable positivity that inspired everyone around her. Through every trail, she remained a beacon of hope, always choosing love, joy and gratitude.
She shared a beautiful and devoted marriage of 36 years with her husband Cleveland Bryan, whom she affectionately called "Babe." To him she was known as "DJ." Their relationship was a true partnership built on love, loyalty, laughter, and unwavering support. Through life's highs and lows, they stood side by side, finding strength in one another and creating a bond that was unbreakable. The love they shared was evident to all who knew them, a lasting example of commitment and deep affection.
She was a proud and devoted mother to her six children-Nyya Waring-Yaoda, Trisha Bryan, Timeka Powell (Melvin), James, Gilliam, Katrina Gilliam, and Tony Bryan (Stacey Williams). Each of whom she loved deeply and unconditionally. Her love only grew as her family expanded, and she found immense happiness in being a grandmother to her twelve grandchildren-Kristin Rodriquez, Kanaan and Zaire Yaoda, Rahjha Dingle, Mekayle Powell, Jordan, Jayden and Jalice Gilliam, London Richardson, and Jelayah and Jesiah Bryan.
She had a grandson Raydell Dingle who preceded her in death. She had one great granddaughter-Aniya Lewis. She cherished every moment spent with them, taking joy in watching them grow. She was the Auntie to a host of nieces and nephews.
Dora loved watching football. Whether it was collegiate or NFL she spent her weekends rooting on her favorite teams. She was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed cheering on the Gamecocks. Above all her faith in God was the foundation of who she was. She spent countless hours reading the Bible and faith-based books. Drawing strength, peace, and wisdom from her relationship with God. Her faith guided her actions and shined through in her kindness, compassion, and grace. She was deeply grateful to her care team who stood by her during her illness, holding them close in her heart and always expressing appreciation for their compassion and support.
Above all, she will be remembered as a loving, kind, and extraordinary positive woman whose light touched everyone she met. Her legacy of faith, resilience and love will live on in her husband, her children, her grandchildren, and great grand and all who were blessed to know her.
