Mr. Logan Michael Novak, 28, known by his family and friends as "Superman", met his untimely death on Sunday, November 19, 2017, helping someone as he always did.
Born in Charleston, SC and a resident of Aiken County, SC, most of his life, he was a son of Sharon LaFountain Squires and Michael Novak. He was loved like he was their own by both Bart Squires and Elizabeth Parker. A 2007 graduate of South Aiken High School, he had been a Server as well as a Front End Manager for over eight years. Logan never met a stranger he didn't befriend almost instantly and would help anyone in need. An avid comic book hero fan, he was known by his family, friends and city, simply as "Superman Logan." He enjoyed drawing, painting and throwing darts. Even though he did not have any children, he considered his pets, Ali, Macy and Snow as his children.
In addition to his parents, family members include his siblings, Cody Novak, Aiken, SC, who was his best friend and Megan Novak, Sartell, MN and Steven Dorey, Aiken, SC, who adored him. His grandparents, Jane and the late Lawrence LaFountain Gansevoort, NY and John and Susan Novak, Augusta, GA. His niece, Evelina Giaffis and nephew, Brayden Leischner, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
The family will greet friends on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, from 3 until 7 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Graniteville, SC.
A service to celebrate Logan's life, will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at 2 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Graniteville, SC.

We will never forget the little boy who laughed and played in our front yard. We will never forget the young man, at Outback, who made everyone feel like they belonged. Meeting you and your family - years ago, was a true blessing. Kipp has often described you as someone who consistently, from childhood to adulthood, befriended, helped, and watched over everyone, within your sphere of contact. Kipp was a recipient of your kindness, and he will be forever grateful to have known you. Thank you for sharing your caring heart and joyful spirit, Logan; these qualities made you a true Superman. Rest in peace, sweet Logan. The lessons, of kindness and joy, your life exemplified will never be forgotten. Our deepest sympathies are with Logan's family. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with each of you. Sincerely, Lane, Lisa, and Kipp

We still can't believe this terrible tragedy has happened. We just saw Logan a few days ago at Outback. He hugged My neck, sat down and talked with Us like He always did, all smiles and in His usual wonderful upbeat spirits.
We will forever hold the memories of Him in Our hearts and minds, and We will keep the Family: Mike, Sharon, Cody, Megan, and All Extended Ones in Our thoughts and prayers.

Superman, you will fly high. You left this world as a very loved man but your spirit and joy will never leave our hearts. I'm going to miss so many things about you. As angry as I get about all of this, I remember one of your best qualities was your lack of anger. So I will try to carry that through this time. I hope you're smiling down at us right now. We love you so very much.
