AIKEN, SC - Wyndham Patteson "Pat" Walke, JR., 84, beloved husband of Sue Ann Lynch Walke, died July 5th at his residence.
A native of Centralia, VA, Pat was born on October 26, 1929 to the late Wyndham Patteson, Sr. and Niora DuVal Walke. He studied at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, where he graduated in 1950 with dual degrees in English and chemistry. He was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Nevada.

Pat took full advantage of his retirement, passing time with his children and grandchildren. Some of his happiest hours were spent playing golf, fishing, crabbing and hunting, and he continued to be an avid reader. Pat was a member of Southern Cross Sertoma, Aiken Businessmen's Club, St. John's United Methodist Church and Palmetto Golf Club. He also was a longtime umpire for Aiken Youth Baseball and was an active member of the Aiken Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 49 years, Sue Ann, include two daughters, Beth (Woody) Matthews, Hartwell, GA, and Susan (Yohn Medina Vivanco) Walke, Kathmandu, Nepal; three sons, Wyn Walke, Johnstown, CO, John (Enu Mainigi) Walke, Washington, DC, and David (Rieko) Walke, Peachtree City, GA; and eight grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence Davis Walke, and a sister, Nancy Walke.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 8th at 2:00 in St. John's United Methodist Church with The Reverends Dr. Timothy McClendon and Dr. Ray Litz officiating. Private interment will be in Bethany Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are Ben Bundens, Marshall Cain, John Epps, Kim Hauer, Pat Hauer, Marcus Huff, Jim McCutchen, Hank Moorman, Joe Spencer, Spooky Weeks, Tom Weeks, and the members of the Aiken Businessmen's Club.
