William O'Neil Obituary

Mr. William Patrick "Willy" O'Neil, 68, of Aiken, SC, entered into rest suddenly and unexpectedly on Monday, April 21, 2025. Born in Massachusetts and a resident of the Aiken/Augusta area most of his life, he was the son of the late Captain Lawrence and Christa Ehrke O'Neil. After graduating from George P. Butler High School, he began his forty-eight-year career with United Parcel Service. Willy never let any grass grow under his feet. At the time of his death, he was still a Delivery Driver with UPS in the McCormick, SC, area. He had a passion for keeping his yard immaculate. Willy enjoyed a round of golf. However, more than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family and spoiling his grands. Willy is survived by a son, Eddie O'Neil, daughter, Jennifer Leigh O'Neil, siblings, Shana O'Neil (Joe) Sutphin, Sheila Reed, Patrick (Robin) O'Neil, and Larry (Laura) O'Neil, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and his UPS family. Also preceding Willy in death were siblings, Diana Sherman, Kathy Black, and Christa Hyman. The family will greet friends on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 1 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2 o'clock in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Pastor Dan Gaudinier will officiate.
