William Martin Obituary

William N. "Bill" Martin, age 67, of Hillsdale, passed away, Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at his home.

He was born July 5, 1946 in Dover, Ohio to parents Roger and Betty (Biechler) Martin.

Bill graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1964 and from Eastern Michigan University in 1969 with a degree in English and Geology. He was a salesman and manager for JCPenney for many years. Bill was a charter member of the Fayette Street Church of Christ and a member of Kappa Psi Alpha at Eastern Michigan University.

Bill is survived by his mother, Betty Bisel of Hillsdale; daughter, Joanna Martin of Toledo; son, Jeff (Jennifer) Martin of South Lyon, Michigan; three grandchildren and a sister, Judith (Terry) Proko of Houston, Texas.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Roger; a daughter, Jennifer Poe and his step-father, Walter Bisel.

A private graveside service for Bill Martin will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Litchfield with Deacon Robert Thompson of the Fayette Street Church of Christ officiating. There will be no calling hours at this time. Arrangements are entrusted to VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
