WILLIAM JAGO Obituary

JAGO, WILLIAM RONALD (BILL) - 73, of Kingston, TN, passed away Friday February 21, 2014, after a long illness. Bill was born to the late Anthony and Evelyn Kuberra Jago on February 21, 1941, in Duluth, MN. Bill grew up in Oak Ridge, TN, and attended Oak Ridge High School, graduating in 1959. Bill completed his electrician apprenticeship and worked for 29 years as an electrician and maintenance supervisor at the Oak Ridge Y-12 National Security Complex until his retirement in 1996. Bill was an active member of the Kingston United Methodist Church in Kingston, TN. He had a huge love for life and people. He was an outgoing person and avid outdoorsman with a wonderful offbeat sense of humor. He spent many good days with fishing pole in hand, in the woods hunting, and gardening. He enjoyed staying busy with his church activities and lived for gatherings with family, his many friends, and especially visits from his great grandson, Connor. Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Robert (Bob) Jago of Kingston, TN. Bill is survived by his wife of 25 years, Larinda Kerr Jago of Kingston. He is survived by his sisters Maryann (and Walter) Newman of Oliver Springs; Kathy (and Tom) Jeffers of Blacksburg, VA; sister-in-law Nell Jago of Kingston; and in-laws Don and Lavonda Phelps of Maryville. He is survived by three children: Kevin (and Robin) Jago of Kingston, Toni Jago (and Dick Heitmann) of Knoxville and Dana (and Chris) Springer of Loudon. Bill is also survived by his granddaughters Kelly and Alix Jago of Kingston; great-grandchildren Connor and Cady; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly. The family would like to express its gratitude to the nurses and staff of UT Hospital Medical Nephrology Unit for taking such good care of Bill. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in memoriam to the American Cancer Society. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at the Kingston United Methodist Church, Kingston, TN, with a celebration of life service following. A burial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday February 26, 2014, at the Grandview Cemetery in Maryville, TN.
