WB Robert "Rob" Lacer Obituary

WB Robert "Rob" Lacer, 71, of North Augusta, SC, beloved husband of Margie Funk Lacer, laid down his working tools of life and entered that great celestial lodge above on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. Born in Montgomery, AL, and a resident of the CSRA since 1988, he was the son of Robert D. Lacer and the late Anna Marie Arbuckle Lacer. He was the owner and operator of Southern Thermal Graphics. Rob and Margie were currently attending Grace United Methodist Church. Rob was well known throughout the sixth Masonic District and Masonic communities near and far. His masonic journey began on October 26, 1995, when he was initiated as an Entered Apprentice, later passed to the degree of a Fellowcraft on February 16, 1996 and finally raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason on May 31, 1996, all taking place at Acacia Lodge #315, AFM. He was the current Secretary of the Acacia Lodge #315, AFM, North Augusta, SC, where he had previously served as Worshipful Master. He was very active in the Masonic community and several of the appendant bodies associated with it. Rob was also currently serving as Secretary of the Aiken Shrine Club. If there was a Masonic event in the area and beyond, and if available, Rob was ready to lend a hand if needed. When Rob walked into a room, his presence was immediately known. His smile lit up a room, and he made it a point to speak to everyone, followed by a handshake and a warm embrace. Rob always put the needs of others above his own. He enjoyed Atlanta Braves and Kansas City Royals baseball, and of course, the Kansas City Chiefs football. Along with his bride, Margie, and his dad, Robert, Rob is survived by a son, Robert Brian Evans, granddaughter, Brianna Evans, and Margie's children, Deena Grasso, Denise (Jim) O'Rourke, and Debbie (Steve Cirafesi) Winters. A sister, Kathy Garrison, also preceded Rob in death. By his wishes, WB Rob will be cremated. The family will greet friends on Saturday, August 23, 2025, beginning at 1 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2 o'clock in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Pastor Cathy Jamieson will officiate. The brethren of Acacia Lodge will serve as Honorary Pallbearers and will also render Masonic rites. Rob's cremated remains will be interred in Philadelphia Memorial Park at a later date. Considering his love for masonry and his lodge, memorials in memory of WB Rob may be made to the Acacia Masonic Lodge. P.O. Box 6517 North Augusta, SC 29861-6517.
