HOOK, WAYNE LAWRENCE - age 84, left his earthly home to be with his beloved Savior on January 11, 2014 surrounded by his loving wife of 63 years, Loretta Hook, and their children and grandchildren. He was born in Ohio, raised on a farm in northern Indiana, where he attended Country Grade and high school and graduated as Valedictorian. Wayne graduated from Ft. Wayne Business College as an accountant and auditor. He was a controller in Egertown, Ohio, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Chattanooga and Knoxville, Tennessee. He served as a sergeant in Counter Intelligence Corp at Camp Atterbury, IN during the Korean Conflict. Wayne loved his Christus Victor Lutheran Church family. Wayne cherished his son David Hook and wife Alta; daughters Ann Kropff, and Carolyn Weaver and husband Don; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, Wayne requested memorials be sent to Christus Victor Lutheran Church. Wayne's life will be celebrated in a worship service led by Rev. My very deepest sympathy goes out to Aunt Loretta and my cousins David, Kari and Ann. There never was a kinder and gentler soul than Uncle Wayne Hook and he was a man of great faith. I don't remember him ever saying a bad word about anyone and everyone had the highest regard and respect for him.
He and my Aunt Loretta had a deep and everlasting love that most people never find, they were so lucky to have each other for so long. Words can't express the gratitude that my siblings and I feel for all the years they took care of us and loved us. My prayers now go out for Aunt Loretta and we ask the Lord to help her get through this very difficult time.

My heart is heavy but surely heaven is rejoicing as a true saint has joined the throng. My dear uncle, like a dad to so many of us and probably the best man I have ever known. Peace and comfort to my aunt (2nd mom) and cousins. Till we meet again, with much love, Luanna

Wayne and Loretta had been our neighbor for mor than 20 years. He helped me so much during the time I was raising my children. He was always looking out for us. Once I became a single mom, he was even more attentive to our needs. He was a really good friend even after we moved. He continued to report anything he saw on what now is our rental house. I truly love Wayne and Loretta and will miss him. I pray Loretta will find her way as she deals with life without him.

We were so blessed to know and spend time with Wayne (and Loretta) through our dear friends Dave and Alta. Wayne was a hard-working man, with a heart of gold for his family and friends and a deep love for his Lord. Our love and prayers are with his family at this difficult time.

Dad, you only left a few days ago, and I already miss you like crazy. I know it was a joyous day in heaven when you arrived. I am so lucky to have had you as my dad and to have you in my life as long as I did. You had a heart of gold, so loving, caring, forgiving, and a Christian man. You touch so many lifes. Thank for all that you did. There will not be a day that I don't think about you and you will always be in my heart. Till we meet again one day.....I love you so much!!!
