Walton Lamar Obituary

It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Walton Burke Lamar who entered into rest June 18, 2025. Mr. Lamar was a graduate of Lucy C. Laney High School and did further studies at Allen University and Augusta Technical College. He was a Master Barber and retired from International Paper Company. He was a United States Army Veteran and a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lillie Archie Lamar; two sons, Burke Lamar and Michael (Felicia) Lamar; two sisters, Eleanor Prince and Carolyn Jackson; four grandchildren, Stephen Kenneth Lamar, Syrena M. (Ehjayson) Henry, Mysia S. Lamar and Brianna S. Lamar; two great grandchildren, Marlisygn Cherry and Braylon Walker; a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held at 11 am Friday, June 27, 2025 at Mount Olive Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dr. Charles E. Goodman, Jr., officiating. Viewing will be held from 2:00 pm until 5:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Professional Care has been entrusted to G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary-North Augusta.
