So sad to hear of my dear childhood friend's passing. Walter came to WCK Walls School in the 4th grade and immediately became everyone's friend. At recess, he always loved playing baseball. I visited him before he moved from Roosevelt Avenue in Pitman and called him several times at his retirement community in Aitkin, SC. He gave no indication that he was sick needing nursing home care. So sad that I didn't get to talk to him once more by phone. RIP my dear friend. Our memories live on.
