W. L. "Les" Sims

Funeral Services for Mr. W. L. "Les" Sims, 89, of Burroughs Street, Jackson, SC, who entered into rest January 10, 2017, will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the First Baptist Church of Jackson. Rev. Marion Britton officiating. Interment in Jackson Memorial Park with Veterans Honors.
Mr. Sims was a native of Clay County, Alabama, having made Jackson his home for the past 66 years. He was an Army Veteran having served in the Korean War. Mr. Sims was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson where he served as a Deacon, the Sunday School Associate Director, on the Personnel Committee, in the Choir and as an Usher. Mr. Sims was a volunteer with the American Heart Association, an avid hunter and fisherman and was a former member of the Jackson Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Janie Sims; a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Charles Weber, Diamondhead, Mississippi.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Baracca II Sunday School, the Senior Citizens of Jackson and Remain at Home.
The family will receive friends at the Church one hour prior to the service.
