Vertell Tutt Obituary
Aiken - Vertell Floyd Simmons Tutt, 88, wife of Ashel Tutt, made a sweet transition on Tuesday evening, March 1, 2022 at her residence. Vertell, a woman of class and sophistication, was born on February 8, 1934, to her proud parents, the late Jennings Blanton (J.B.) and Martha Dunbar Floyd.
A celebration of her life will be held 12PM Monday, March 7, 2022 at Indian Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Anthony Wilson officiating. She leaves to cherish beautiful memories: her husband, Ashel Tutt; one stepdaughter, Denise Tutt-Lott; one stepson, Gilbert (Laveda) Tutt; adopted sister, Debra Hosey (Vernon) Williams; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Friends may call JACKSON-BROOKS FUNERAL HOME 126 Fairfield St, SE Aiken, SC 29801 (803)649.6123 on Sunday from 3PM-6PM.

I worked with Vertell in the US Senate. She was lovely to me, Chuck, Fletcher and Kellan. I love that her funeral song was the exact same one I want at my funeral. RIP dear Vertell from all your Senate friends!!
