Aiken - Valerie C. Rachin Davis, age 93, of Aiken, S.C., wife of the late William Ellis Davis and daughter of the late K. J. Rachin and the late Anna Raczy Kasprzak, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 3, 2018. She had no surviving family; however, she had become like family to her friend, Kathy Dutton who was employed with Pruitt Hospice. She was born in Chicago, Illinois but has been a resident of Aiken County for many years. She was of the Catholic Faith. She was an avid golfer and a member of Midland Valley Country Club. Kathy stated that she was a loving and caring person and a very good friend to her. A special "Thanks" goes out to the Staff at Hitchcock House of Aiken for the love and care that they gave her during the four years that she stayed there and to Pruitt Hospice for the love and care that they also extended to her during her illness. She shall be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched during the 93 precious years that God granted her on this earth. Death is not the end for her, as she has just made that great transition to her new Heavenly Home, where all is joy and peace, and there is no more pain and suffering in a land of endless tomorrows. Earth's loss is truly Heaven's gain. A service, celebrating her life and home going, will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 2:00 PM . The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The interment will follow the service at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Rd. in Augusta, Ga. 30906.
