AIKEN, S.C. - SSG Travis Antwon Bryant, 33, of 194 Marigold Drive, Aiken, SC, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Fort Hunter Liggett, California.
Funeral services were at 2:00 pm at Olar High School Gymnasium, Denmark, SC on Thursday, July 10, 2014. Pallbearers: United States Army. Flower Bearers: Denmark-Olar High School Class of 1998. Burial was in Hope Memorial Park Cemetery, Barnwell, SC with full military honors. Officiating minister was Elder William Smith.
SSG Bryant was placed in the gymnasium one hour before the service. SSG Travis Antwon Bryant was born September 11, 1980. He was called home on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Fort Hunter Ligett, California.
Travis was a former student of Denmark-Olar High School class of 1998. In 1997, Travis began his journey into the Armed Services. He received additional schooling at Aiken Technical College. He enlisted in the Army National Guard and later transferred to Army Reserves.
He was employed as a maintenance technician with Dayco (Williston, SC), HP Pelzer (Thomson, GA) and GIW (Grovetown, GA).
He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife, Tommysina Bryant; three daughters: Olivia, Isis and Tiye; parents, Minister Moses and Eva Johnson Bryant, Sr.; siblings; Eric (Tamiko) Bryant, Aric (Debora) Bryant, Moses (Thelma) Bryant, Jr., Aveia (Charles) Bryant, Gregory Bryant and Ashiel Bryant; aunts, Lizzie Mae Brooker, Cosie Bryant, Lovely Bryant, Emma Dicks, Mary Lou (James) Hammond, Vera (Eddie) Hayes, Bertha (Charles) Johnson and Janie Bryant; uncles, Walter Bryant, Jeremiah (Virginia) Johnson and Nathel (Betty) Johnson; father-in-law and mother -in-law, Tommy (Lannie) Bradley; a brother-in-law, CWO Jeremiah C. Bradley; two sisters-in-law, Angela (Cory) Williams and Christine (Alton) Coker; his grandmother, Annie Bell Bradley; an additional twelve aunts and ten uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
We, the family, will miss Travis's wit, wisdom and love for his family.
Viewing for the public was held on Wednesday from 12:00 noon- 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Friends may call at the residence and at the funeral home. Sacred arrangements were entrusted to Dash's Funeral Home of Blackville.
