Thor Thomas Oksendahl
FAIRFIELD, CA - Thor Thomas Oksendahl passed away on December 16, 2016 surrounded by family and friends at David Grant Military Hospital in Fairfield California.
Thor was born on June 26, 1979 to Mark & Valerie Oksendahl in Billings, Montana.
Thor graduated from high school in 1998 in Lewistown, Montana.
Shortly thereafter, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and held a distinguished career until his death.
Thor trained to be a Machinery Technician and served in WA, VA, AK, HI, NY, and USCGC BERTHOLF and ACET in Alameda, CA. Thor's last duty was serving as Chief Machinery Technician, Unit Surface Forces Logistics Center, Industrial Operations Division, Advanced Ships Systems Instruction and Support Team.
Thor is survived by his father Mark Oksendahl (Holly) of Denver Co, mother, Valerie Oksendahl (Philippe Pavard) of Aiken, SC, brother Leif Oksendahl (Laura) of Port Orchard, WA, sister Megan Oksendahl (husband Clinton Hutchinson) of Yigo, Guam, grandfather LeRoy Oksendahl of Billings, Mt, Grandmother Wilma Moses of Billings MT, nephews Kian and Ronan Oksendahl, Soren and Magnus Hutchinson, nieces Ella Oksendahl and Vada Hutchinson.
Thor was dearly loved by his family of uncles, aunts, cousins and countless friends and colleagues he left behind.
Services were held at First English Lutheran Church, 1243 N 31st St, Billings Montana on December 30, 2016 followed by military honors at the Yellowstone National Cemetery in Laurel, Montana.
Pallbearers from Arlington National Cemetery and Side Boys/Honorary Bearers were a host of Thor's military friends and family.
