Thomas Meyer
Langley - Mr. Thomas Bernard Meyer, Sr., 79, of Langley, SC, affectionately known as "Uncle Butchie", husband of the late Annette Kaney Meyer, entered into rest on Thursday, May 26, 2022, in the comfort of his home.
Born in and a lifelong resident of Langley, SC, he was a son of the late Bennie Ronell and Alberta Dabbs Meyer. A United States Army Veteran, he proudly and with honor served his country during the Vietnam War. He retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass. A longtime member of Langley United Methodist Church, he served as an Usher for many years, prior to his health declining and was also active in the United Methodist Men. He was also a member of Horse Creek Masonic Lodge #174, A.F.M. "Uncle Butchie" enjoyed walking, being in nature, NASCAR, photography and being with his family. Children, his own and others, held a special place in his heart.
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his sons and their spouses, Thomas B., Jr and Sara Meyer, Greenville, SC and Christopher A. and Samantha Meyer, Graniteville, SC; siblings, Marybell Chance, Newport, NJ, Lana Brantley, Aiken, SC and DeLois Insley and her husband, Carl, Langley, SC and grandchildren, Austin, Ryan, Graham, Morgan, Olivia and James Meyer.
Friends will be greeted by the family on Thursday, June 2, 2022, beginning at 2 o'clock at Langley United Methodist Church, Langley, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3 o'clock at the church. Pastor Graham Bennett will officiate. Interment with Veterans Honors accorded by a United States Army Honor Guard, will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC.
